Book Your Quick Professional Headshot (David Russell)

A Mini Shoot is a 15 minute photoshoot. It’s super simple.

A few headshots from different angles so you have a lovely new professional photo to boost your LinkedIn and job applications. I’ll take lots of photos and you’ll choose your favourite for editing.

The link to book is at the bottom of this page.

My superpower is putting people at ease in front of my camera.

I'm professional, discreet, friendly and approachable.

No awkward positions, cheesy poses, filters, forced grins or nasty airbrushing.

No big lights or studios.

When is it?

Click on the booking link below to find the next available dates. They’re usually scheduled at short notice.

What kind of photos do you take?

Really natural, relaxed pictures. Formal or informal, whichever suits you. Have a look at the photos on this page, or over on my Portraits page, to see the type of headshots I take. There are no overwhelming lights or studio set-ups, just simple flattering natural light. You’ll have a choice of backdrops on the day, depending on the location.

How much does it cost?

The cost for one photo is being covered by the organiser.

Your choice of photo is provided in large and small formats (suitable for printing and for online use). You can choose to buy additional photos after the shoot - most people do - but there’s no obligation.

Where is it?

St Andrews - Dragons Den (Bistro area)

Who are you?

I’m Julie Broadfoot, a professional photographer based in Glasgow. I'm professional, discreet, friendly and approachable, and my superpower is making people comfortable in front of my camera. Find out more about me and my business on my cunningly-named ‘About Me’ page.

Can I try different outfits during the shoot? Can I change my hairstyle and make-up?

Yes but it will have to be done within your 15 minute shoot so plan your changes cleverly!

Can I see the photos you’re taking during the shoot?

Yes. I’ll show you a few on the back of my camera so you can relax, knowing what I’m shooting.

Do you edit the photos? I have a spot!

Yes, my editing produces a really natural, polished look. No airbrushing or Photoshop fakery. But I’m not going to force you to live with a spot if you happen to have one on the day of your shoot. I can sneakily edit that out. I just won’t change how you look.

Can I have the RAW files?

No, and photos mustn’t be edited after I’ve supplied them.

I am nervous, is 15 minutes enough?

I totally understand. I’m the same when faced with a camera (which is why I chose a career behind it). The nature of this Mini Shoot means I won’t have a lot of time to work with you on nerves but I promise to make it as painless as possible.

What happens next?

I’ll ask you to choose your favourite photos on the back of the camera at the end of the shoot (please bring your glasses if you need them to see!) and I’ll supply that digital image within two weeks.

What can I use my new photo for?

Update your profile picture on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and social media profiles. Add it to job applications or your CV. Add it to your media kit so you’re prepared to send out a press release for your business. Revamp the ‘About’ page on your website. I retain copyright of all my work. Images cannot be used on commercial products.

What if I want more than one photo?

You will be able to purchase additional photos after your shoot if you would like any. £35 for 1 extra, £55 for 2 extras, £110 for 4 extras.

Can I just turn up on the day?

No. All bookings must be made in advance.

What’s your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, please do that online asap so that someone else can use the session.

Illness

It doesn’t matter how important your photos are, please do not attend your shoot if you are unwell. It puts me, my family and other clients at risk. If I become ill I cannot work and may lose weeks of income. Thank you.
