This is an experimental type of photography called drawing. It’s done with minimal equipment and maximum creativity. Huge thanks to Sandy Morrison for sketching me at work, photographing an event at Glasgow City Chambers.
I work for loads of different people. That particular event was organised by a German consultancy, with international delegates learning about sustainable house building.
Most of my work comes from word-of-mouth. I’ve built up an excellent reputation from shooting professionally for over a decade. Clients tell me they hire me because I’m great at making them relax when they’re scared of a camera.
I’m comfortable working with their staff and guests, whether it’s their accounts manager, receptionists or sales team, vulnerable people or children, a bigwig investor from overseas, MPs, royalty, actors or celebrities. I’ve worked backstage at countless gigs and festivals, in live radio studios and on TV locations, partly from a long career at the BBC.
So big names and busy running orders don’t faze me. I lurk in the background shooting candids, then boss people around (nicely) when needed. Sometimes I get to tell MPs, billionaires and the police what to do :)
Clients include:
• Authors, creative freelancers, musicians, CEOs and small business owners.
• Celtic FC (I’ve done two book covers for them and those photos looked pretty special on billboards).
• Bumble, Starling Bank, Dogs Trust, Battersea, Vets Now, Girlguiding Scotland, BBC, Glasgow 2014, Citizens Advice, National Trust Scotland.
• PR agencies and marketing specialists.
• Councils and housing associations.
• Alzheimers Research UK, National Deaf Children’s Society, National Autistic Society, Mellow Parenting, Life Changes Trust, Lifelink, Friends of Glasgow Museums.
I’m going to share many more photos of my work soon but in the meantime you can explore my portrait, commercial and events portfolios.
